The moon in this picture has been hand-finished using a specialist glow-in-the-dark paint. This creates a beautiful, gentle glow effect when viewed in total darkness — perfect for adding a subtle, magical touch after lights out.
To get the best result:
Charge the moon with strong light first — natural sunlight or a UV blacklight is ideal.
The moon will glow brightest for around 5–20 minutes, depending on the light and colour.
After that, the glow becomes softer and may continue for several hours, but it’s only visible in complete darkness.
Streetlights, house lights or even moonlight can reduce or completely wash out the glow effect.
This isn’t a lightbulb – it’s a delicate pigment, so please don’t expect it to shine like a torch. It’s a quiet little detail that reveals itself best in peaceful, dark spaces.
